a multi-purpose 3D code for
computational general relativistic astrophysics
The goal of this project is to build a multi-purpose 3D code for computational general relativistic astrophysics that makes efficient use of massively parallel computers. The simulation of coalescing neutron star binaries is used as a driver for the development of this code. The present version of the GR3D code represents a step in this direction.

The version of GR3D described in this document contains the full set of the Einstein Equations coupled to the full set of the relativistic hydrodynamic equations. It is capable of constructing the complete spacetime in the presence of relativistic matter described by a perfect fluid source in dynamic evolution.
